Description

Maia is a bright white female whose sire is PERUVIAN CANADAR, a second generation Studmaster progeny, you can see that she resembles her sire. She has very dense fleece with a micron count of 22! We have bred her to El Salvadors Cloud and we are looking forward to a great cria from her this year. Judges have called her fleece "Uniform" and "A Pretty Bright Fleece."
Breeding update: Maia easily delivered a male cria on 6-5-13. 16.3# of golden cuteness. Mom and baby are well!

Maia is named after a star in the Taurus constellation. Her name means 'grandmother/mother, nurse, and great one.' She is the oldest and the brightest star of the Pleiades. In Greek mythology she was the oldest of the Pleiades and the mother of Hermes by Zeus. She is identified with an Ancient Italic Goddess of spring and the most beautiful. She is also named after our niece, Maya.
